Wonderful Live Theater
The other day I was showing property to a customer and mentioned I was going to have family in town and was taking them to the theatre.nbsp; They asked, ldquo; What theatre?rdquo;nbsp; I was surprised to learn that even though they have been coming to Hilton Head Island for several years they did not know about the Arts Centre of the Coastal Carolina.nbsp; For a small town, we have so much to offer ndash; live theater, a symphony orchestra, golf, tennis, boating, wonderful restaurants and shopping, and now, even a Zipline.
Anyway, I took my family including 2 teenage children to see Mamma Mia.nbsp; Itrsquo;s a story about a young girl planning her wedding on a unique Greek island.nbsp; She was raised there by her mother but now feels she wants her father to walk her down the aisle.nbsp; Unbeknownst to her mother, she invites 3 men that once dated her mother and tries to find out which one of them is her father.nbsp; Well, I wonrsquo;t tell you anymorenbsp;except to say it was hilarious.nbsp; It was directed by Casey Colgan who always does a super job with the music, choreography, settings, costumes, etc.nbsp; Best of all the tickets are very affordable, not like the pricey ones in New York or some other big cities.

My husband and I belong to a theatre group of five couples.nbsp; We all get season tickets and each couple takes one night as the host couple, providing hors doeuvres and drinks before the show and making a reservation for an early bird dinner at a nice restaurant. nbsp; Then we all go the theatre, relax and enjoy the show.
This season we saw rdquo;Pride and Prejudicerdquo;, ldquo;White Christmasrdquo;, ldquo;Leading Ladiesrdquo;, ldquo;Sister Actrdquo;, and ldquo;Mamma Miardquo;.
Next season we will see ldquo; The Color Purplerdquo;, Disneyrsquo;s ldquo;Newsiesrdquo;, ldquo;Dial M for Murderrdquo;, ldquo;Evitardquo;, and ldquo;Saturday Night Feverrdquo;.nbsp; We usually take one of the plans offered in order to get a discount -nbsp; a Full Season Preview, regular Full Season Plan, or a Flex Plan which includes five tickets that can be used in different ways -nbsp; one for each of the five shows, five for one of the shows, or any other combination.
In between the five scheduled shows other shows are offered.nbsp; This year on July 6 and August 3 therersquo;s ldquo;Casey at the Batrdquo;nbsp; about the early days of baseball, and on August 31 and September 2 therersquo;s ldquo; The Second Cityrdquo; about Chicagorsquo;s comedy theatre which is a launching pad for comedians, actors, directors, and others interested in show business.
Plan to see a show next time yoursquo;re on the island.nbsp; You wonrsquo;t regret it, I promise.
