On any given day you can see dolphins frolicking in the rivers, creeks, and sounds. As the water heats up in the spring the water comes alive with bait fish, shrimp and the predators they attract. With the waters teeming with bait you may be lucky enough to see the dolphin strand feeding where they force bait on shore with a slap of their tales. With the helpless bait fish flailing on land the dolphin will beach themselves as they lie on their side and gulp down their prey. This feeding method is unique to the area from Jacksonville to Charleston.

Early spring will bring the manta ray to our waters and in a blink of an eye, you can miss them as they shoot straight out of the water and into the air. Typically inshore the manta rays are about two to three feet wide but in 2017 a giant manta ray was spotted swimming along the surface that was estimated at sixteen feet.

Kayaking in the shallows you can see sting rays scurrying along the creek bed or a red fish feeding on the abundant food supply found in the marshes. A kayak is a great way to get to the shallows and they are easy to beach so you can explore on land along the shore. The marshes are full of food like shrimp, fiddler crabs, insects and seeds that attract a wide variety of sea birds and fish.

It doesnrsquo;t matter whether you are in a kayak, on a paddle board or aboard a massive yacht; it just matters if you are out on the water. No matter what your budget you should take advantage of all the natural surroundings that make the Lowcountry such an amazing place.nbsp;
