Our Best Wellness Locations
For many people, holidays are about more than sunbathing and exploration. They’re also a chance to unwind, mentally and physically, recharge and reinvigorate. Several of our locations promote better wellbeing– here’s just a few of the best places to consider.
Sardinia is famous for its idyllic coves and crystal-clear waters. Its remarkable hiking routes are less well known, but offer the perfect opportunity to reconnect with nature. The trails pass through some astonishingly diverse landscapes, such as ravines, ancient woods and mountains – giving walkers the chance to not only escape from it all, but explore the island in full. We particularly recommend the half-day hike to Tiscali, a Bronze Age archaeological site within the ruins of a limestone cave.
Many of our Sardinian villas also have terraces overlooking the sea, providing the ideal spot for a morning yoga session. This view, for example, takes some beating.
Barbados has long held a reputation as one of the world’s finest locations for promoting physical and spiritual wellbeing. In 1751, George Washington even brought his brother here to convalesce on the peaceful beaches. These days, Barbados offers a wealth of remarkable spas and wellness centres, plus several yoga and pilates classes in beachside locations. The Coral Reef Club in Saint James is particularly worth visiting; with its colonial-style spa, waterfalls and exotic gardens.
Marbella is a place that knows how to promote wellbeing – the luxury way! There are a multitude of spas to visit, or alternatively, if you’re seeking relaxation and respite in nature, the hike to La Concha, the region’s highest peak, lets you experience Marbella’s natural beauty in full. Chartering a luxury boat (such as Maia Fair) is another popular way to unwind, glass of champagne in hand, whilst taking in the splendour of the Costa Del Sol coastline.
The Mont Blanc massif makes for a remarkable backdrop in this exclusive resort, which not only caters for skiing fans, but also for those looking to enjoy some holistic pampering. A short distance from Chamonix, you’ll discover the Thermal Baths of Saint Gervais, which was first established in 1807. The purifying waters of the baths are not only blissful to soak in, but also benefit the skin, thanks to their mineral content. The on-site clinic also offers a variety of luxurious treatments. Alternatively, you could book a massage in the comfort of your own luxury villa, overlooking the impressive mountain landscape.
Ibiza has long since shrugged off its reputation as Europe’s party capital – with more and more people now appreciating its natural beauty and calming surroundings. The island has plenty of secret beaches, such as Es Portitxol, a stunning tear-shaped cove with views of the surrounding craggy coastline. Another great way to make the most of the scenery is to charter a luxury boat, where you can practice yoga whilst gazing out to sea.
